I recently visited Kay – Viva African Restaurant & Bar, and it was a great experience. The food is authentic with rich Nigerian flavors — especially the Jollof Rice and Suya, which were delicious and well-seasoned. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was reasonably quick.

The atmosphere is simple but comfortable and family-friendly, making it a nice place to enjoy a meal with friends or relatives. Prices are good and you really get value for what you pay. If you enjoy spicy and flavorful dishes, I highly recommend trying their Pepper Soup as well.

Was looking for a 9ja place to eat while I was in Stratford, Kay-Viva pooped up and reviews looked decent, so I checked it out. From outside it looked dark inside – so wasn’t sure if it was open – it was….(y’never kno with 9ja joints!).
I was surprised to see how extensive the menu was, and was assured all was available. I ordered porridge beans with fried plantain and goat meat. The food was delicious….service friendly and helpful….in fact, I went back later to try the jollof and ayamashe.

This is one of my long-time favourites to visit with my kids cos we so much love pounded yam with ogbono soup, even kids love the suya as the pepper is not overpowering and well balanced. The food is always delicious, authentic to the core, and freshly prepared, but what really makes the experience special is the warmth and care from the team. Angel is absolutely amazing as she’s always attentive, friendly, and professional and the owner is just as lovely and helpful.

I really appreciate how family-friendly the place is. My kids always feel welcomed and happy, especially when we sit towards the front where they can watch their kids’ shows (Superbook), while adults at the back enjoy the cosy atmosphere with great music videos. It’s such a thoughtful balance that makes everyone comfortable. It’s rare to find a restaurant that combines great food, genuine hospitality, and a homely vibe so effortlessly, but Kay-Viva does it perfectly every time.
